Work with Carlo Gavazzi VMU-C EM in DEXMA Platform

One of the first steps to take when you start an energy efficiency plan is to decide what are you going to measure, your purpose in measuring, how will you measure it and which hardware you are going to use.

At DEXMA we love to help our users when it comes to choosing a hardware device. We aim for you to have no headaches when choosing your loggers, sensors or other devices. We created DEXMA Platform as a hardware-neutral platform, which means that almost any meter could be integrated on it.

That is why we have more and more hardware devices added to the platform, like VMU-C EM from Carlo Gavazzi.

Carlo Gavazzi VMU-C EM now available at DEXMA!

Carlo Gavazzi is one of the leading global datalogger manufacturers. That is why at DEXMA we work hard to add as many of their devices as possible onto our energy analysis platform.

From now on, you can use the data gathered from your VMU-C EM device on DEXMA. This device takes data from energy meters, network analysers or E/S modules from VMU Series.

This datalogger is much reduced in size (2 DIN modules) but the size has nothing to do with its power. It can gather data from up to 32 energy analysers.

You can use it with your Carlo Gavazzi analysers or other devices, like, for example, Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP/IP.

How can you know if this is what you need for your project? The VMU-C EM has important advantages:

  • It belongs to a modular system. This is an opportunity to add more features on-the-go whenever you need to scale the use of VMU-C EM. You can add a 3G modem to the system, E/S digital modules to power control, modules to monitor temperature, humidity…
  • The user interface for set-up and control is visual and easy to understand. This simplifies the device’s set up.
  • Once the device is up and running, it sends data to DEXMA directly and automatically. This means that you don’t need to open any TCP ports to visualize data on the platform and start your analysis.

Carlo Gavazzi’s professionals also add that this is the perfect solution when you need to monitor devices with Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP/IP communication, which are the most extended protocols in the market.
