DEXMA joins the Building Efficiency Accelerator

DEXMA is delighted to announce its partnership with the Building Efficiency Accelerator, a public-private collaboration managed by the World Resources Institute as part of the Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) initiative of the United Nations.

The aim of the BEA is to double the rate of energy efficiency improvement in the global building sector by 2030.

What is the Building Efficiency Accelerator?

A global partnership of more than 30 businesses and organisations, the Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA) assists subnational governments around the world to catalyse the implementation of building efficiency actions.

The BEA was launched in 2014 at the UN Climate Summit. It is one of a set of 6 partnerships, under the UN’s Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) umbrella, designed to drive transformative global change to double the rate of energy efficiency improvement by 2030.

The BEA includes over 30 stakeholders, including DEXMA, committed to working with cities around the world on building efficiency efforts and is managed by World Resources Institute.

When a city signs up to the Accelerator, they are asked to make the following 3 commitments:
1. Implement one enabling policy
2. Implement one demonstration project
3. Create a baseline of building energy performance, track and report annual progress, and share experiences and best-practices with other governments.

Currently, there are 28 BEA cities around the world, which can be seen on the map below:

DEXMA’s Role in Accelerating Global Building Efficiency

As a BEA partner, DEXMA will contribute its global expertise in building efficiency topics, with the overall objective of helping cities meet their 3 BEA commitments, especially through creating energy performance baselines and tracking annual energy efficiency progress.

“In addition to our software being used by over 10,000 buildings in 36 countries, DEXMA’s work with public administrations is a testament to our capacity to contribute to the Building Efficiency Accelerator at a global level”, said DEXMA CEO and co-founder Joan Pinyol. “We are excited to participate in this groundbreaking initiative which is in perfect alignment with our mission to deliver data-driven energy savings through software.”
