28 Mar PRÓTYPO Project: predictive maintenance for energy management
The concept of predictive maintenance is a methodology totally related to energy management, since it is based on the measurement and monitoring of the state of the installations, giving recommendations that will produce great savings. The PRÓTYPO Project aims to build a tool to carry out this methodology in energy management.
DEXMA leads PRÓTYPO Project oriented towards the detection of anomalies at the energy level via chatbot. I you would like to know more about it, read on!
Energy Efficiency Based on Pattern Recognition and Forecast Techniques
Global energy management systems market is expected to garner $44.4 billion by 2020, registering a CAGR of 13.76 % during the forecast period 2014-2020 according to an Allied Market Research study. And the main technological challenges for the market are the integrations of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence techniques in Energy Management Systems.
The objective of the PRÓTYPO project is to set up a market disruptive Big Data and Artificial Intelligent tool, and it will be developed jointly by DEXMA, Justa Energia and El Component.
To this end, an innovative tool is being built to identify saving potentials and detection of anomalies through a new Chat-Bot integrated in the main DEXMA tool (DEXCell EM), which will ensure the proper communication with final customers. In addition, it will have a virtual audit module to identify potential savings for the energy consumer without having to visit the installation, 10 times faster and 40 times more economical.
Chat-bot technology will use machine learning to pick up on conversational cadences, allowing it to effectively answer and react to spoken or written prompts to deliver a service. In this case, the Chat-Bot will deliver a series of recommendations to improve the energy efficiency of our buildings according to the conversation established with the user – as well as the detection of anomalies that may occur at the energy level.
This tool will be integrated on DEXCell Energy Manager Platform using the market know-how provided by partners’s project Justa Energia (Spain) and Elcomponent (UK). DEXMA’s Energy Management System, DEXCell Energy Manager, is already installed in more than 50,000 buildings around the world.
DEXMA’s Role in the PRÓTYPO Project
DEXMA’s role within the project is mainly present in the software development, given its innovative and technological profile, being the main partner of the project.
The consortium aims to build a tool composed of: an upgraded benchmarking and an engine based on pattern recognition and forecast techniques to inform the user via Chatbot. .
DEXMA’s role in the project is described below:
- Project leadership at both technical and administrative management levels.
- Market launch of the new product, oriented towards the current customer base (more than 50,000 buildings in 42 countries) and potential partners/ new customers.
- Participate in the definition and programming of the artificial intelligence and Big Data modules, together with the energy service companies involved in the project (Justa Energia and Elcomponent).
- Integrate the new modules generated into the DEXCell Energy Manager platform, making it available to the existing customer base.
- DEXMA shall collaborate in the specification of the interaction part of the product with the end user (CRM “Portal” and Chatbot) together with the other partners, who shall lead this part of the project. As well as in the start-up and monitoring of the pilots that are carried out both at local and European level.
The consortium of the PRÓTYPO Project
The PRÓTYPO project consortium consists of 3 partners from Spain and the United Kingdom: ELCOMPONENT (United Kingdom), Dexma (Spain), and Justa Energia (Spain)
The consortium that has come together to deliver PRÓTYPO is made up of highly experienced energy research organisations; Elcomponent provides innovative, cost-effective solutions for electricity and energy monitoring and metering; DEXMA is serving more than 1600 businesses across 42 countries, providing Energy Management Software for buildings, in the commercial and industrial sectors; Justa Energia is one of the most innovative Energy Service Companies in Catalonia, with a methodology based on the audit of contracts an energy bills, continuous measurement of consumption, implementations of improvement actions and monitors developments.
The project kicked off in November 2016 and will run for three years. PRÓTYPO project has received funding from European Regional Development Fund (ERDP) within the framework of the ERDF Operational Programme for Catalonia 2014-2020.
